FAQs

Ingredients & Health

What is allulose, and why do you use it in Rbel Bee Sweets?

Allulose is a rare sugar found in raisins and figs. It tastes like sugar but isn’t digested the same way, has 1/10th the calories and it won’t spike your blood sugar. It helps us preserve the enzymes in real honey while delivering the chewy texture you expect. Learn more from the FDA.

Why do you use real honey instead of refined sugar?

Honey provides the perfect balance of glucose and fructose for energy without the crash. It also contains antioxidants, antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties and won’t lead to the blood sugar spikes linked to cane sugar. Source: WebMD

Is honey really the first ingredient in your gummies?

Yes. In both flavors, honey is the first ingredient by weight—more than any other. Most "honey" snacks use trace amounts and add refined sugar to save money. We use honey and treat it carefully to preserve its functional properties during manufacturing.

Do you use any added flavors or colors?

No. We use real food. We don't use artificial or "natural flavors". We don't use "flavors" period. Our gummy taste is made from using real food. Our taste comes directly from real food ingredients like cherry, pomegranate, beet powder, and Mexican vanilla. And we never add any colors. Natural flavors” is a vague term. The FDA defines it broadly, and manufacturers are not required to disclose the specific ingredients or processes used to make them.

What are the functional ingredients in your gummies?

Functional ingredients are ingredients that provide benefits beyond their nutritional value. We use real food ingredients like honey, tart cherry, pomegranate, blue oyster mushroom, saffron, beet powder, and Mexican vanilla. When you eat our honey fruit chews, just know you're eating food that will provide more than just great flavor.
